Use the information file (.inf) for Windows XP/Vista/Windows7/Window 8 or later
Philips monitors include the VESA DDC2B feature to support plug-and-play requirements for XP/Vista/Windows7/Window8.
You can install this information file (.inf) to activate the plug-and-play application in order to select your Philips monitor from the Monitor dialog box in XP/Vista/Windows7/Window8.
The installation procedure will depend on your operating system.
Here's how:
For Windows XP =============
1. Start Windows XP 2. Click the Start button; point to Settings and click on Control Panel. 3. Select and click on Printers and Other Hardware 4. Click on the Display icon. 5. Choose the Settings tab and then click the Advanced button. 6. Choose the Monitor tab
- If the 'Properties' button is inactive, your monitor is properly configured. Please stop installation. - If the Properties button is active, click on the Properties button and proceed to step 7. 7. Click on Driver and Update Driver. 8. Choose the Install from a list or specific location [advanced] button 9. Click Next and then the Have Disk button 10. Choose the Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install button. Click on the Next button 11. Click the Have Disk button. 12. Click the Browse button and choose the drive in which you've placed the disk. Example: F: (CD-ROM Drive). 11. Click the Open button. 13. Click the OK button and choose your monitor model. Click on the Next button. - If the Has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP message appears, click the Continue Anyway button. 14. Click on the Finish button and then the Close button 15. Click OK button twice to close the Display Properties dialog box.
For Windows Vista =============
1. Start Windows Vista 2. Click the Start button; select and click on "Control Panel". 3. Select and click on "Hardware and Sound" 4. Choose "Device Manager" and Click on "Update device drivers". 5. Select "Monitor" and then right click on "Generic PnP Monitor". 6. Click on "Update Driver Software". 7. Select "Browse my computer for driver software". 8. Click the "Browse" button and choose the drive in which you've placed the disk. Example:(CD-ROM Drive:\\Lcd\PC\drivers\). 9. Click the "Next" button. 10. Wait few minutes for installing the driver, and then click "Close" button.
For Windows 7 =============
1. Start Windows Vista 2. Click the Start button; select and click on "Control Panel". 3. Select and click on "Hardware and Sound" 4. Choose "Device Manager" and Click on "Update device drivers". 5. Select "Monitor" and then right click on "Generic PnP Monitor". 6. Click on "Update Driver Software". 7. Select "Browse my computer for driver software". 8. Click the "Browse" button and choose the drive in which you've placed the disk. Example:(CD-ROM Drive:\\PC\drivers\). 9. Click the "Next" button. 10. Wait few minutes for installing the driver, and then click "Close" button.
For Windows 8 =============
1. Start Windows® 8 2. Right click and click All apps at the bottom-right of the screen. 3. Set the "View by” to "Large icons” or "Small icons”. 4. Click on the "Display” icon. 5. Click on the "Change display settings” button. 6. Click the "Advanced Settings” button. 7. Click the "Monitor” tab and then click the "Properties” button. 8. Click the "Driver” tab. 9. Open the "Update Driver Software-Generic PnP Monitor” window by clicking on "Update Driver... " and then click the "Browse my computer for driver software" button. 10. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". 11. Click the "Have Disk” button. Click on the "Browse” button and navigate to the following directory: X:\Drivers\model name (where X is the drive letter designator for the CD-ROM drive). 12. Select the "inf" file and click the "Open” button. Click the "OK” button. 13. Select your monitor model and click the "Next” button. The files will be copied from the CD to your hard disk drive. 14. Close all open windows and remove the CD. 15. Restart the system. The system will automatically select the maximum refresh rate and corresponding Color Matching Profiles.
